Description

A small ecotourism resort on the shore line of Santa María del Oro lagoon, Nayarit, Mexico. We offer economical accommodation, camping sites, rental of kayaks, rowing boats and bicycles. Additionally, we organize guided tours to places of interest like waterfalls, pre-Hispanic ruins and bird watching sites. This area is home to over 250 species of birds, and we can arrange a visit to the neighbouring region of San Blas, along the Nayarit coast, which holds other bird species and habitat. The lagoon is suitable for bass and tilapia fishing. Jet skis as well as two stroke engines are prohibited to avoid contamination. A board of farmers meet every first Tuesday of each month to discuss issues such as the preservation of the lagoon and the environment, and the methods required in that regard. Our guests are invited to help us to preserve the ecological environment, the flora and fauna.

Location

Santa María del Oro lagoon is located in the state of Nayarit, on the south west of Mexico, and has mountainous regions with striking waterfalls and two freshwater lagoons in old volcano craters.
