Reserva Ecológica YARINA

Name
Reserva Ecológica YARINA
Country:
Ecuador
Zone:
Yasuni National Park
Description

Yarina Ecological Reserve, is located on the banks of the Napo River, just 60 minutes away by deck motor canoe from the city of El Coca.

The Napo River is the largest affluent of the Amazon River, located in the heart of the Amazon Basin.

Ecological Reserve Yarina is a founding member of the Conservation Group Yuturi, a group dedicated to protecting and conserving the ecuadorian Amazon forest as well as its wildlife, which works in conjunction with other organizations involved in such projects. Part of its projects are related with direct works with local communities and populations.

Location

Ecological Reserve Yarina is strategically located in a forest area that has the greatest biodiversity of micro-habitats in the low Napo River area. This means that there are more species of animals, birds, flora, reptiles and insects per hectare than in elsewhere of the banks of the low Napo and its environs.
