Estancia Don Joaquin gives personalized attention to our guests according to their concerns. Horseback through the mounts and estuaries crossing rivers and lakes, river rafting with a guide of the place, rural activities with the "gauchos" (natives), photo safari, rural trekking through trails and native woodlands, picnics on white sand beaches, flyfishing, old carriage rides, are some of the activities proposed by Estancia Don Joaquin for those who seek non-conventional tourism.
The old house, recently recycled with materials from the area, has 8 en suite rooms, exclusively decorated by its owners.
Nature, culture and tradition come together in this place of dreams. Ideal for lonely travelers, marriages or corporate tourism and even for those who want to escape from the city and take a have a timeout of relax in nature. The food is homemade regional cuisine, with touches of sophistication and is open to those who want to know its secrets.
Estancia Don Joaquin is a rural argentine establishment that wants to preserve its traditions and contribute to the movement of responsible tourism. We built our home entirely with materials from the area (bamboo cane, eucalyptus and recycled wood) with the collaboration of local staff, taking care to minimize the impact on the environment and the use of energy.
The activities that we offer incite to understand the natural life of the Mesopotamian region, in a non-invasive nor predatory way. This implies giving the host information and experiences of the place as well as information to avoid adverse impact on it. The International Ecotourism Society (TIES - www.ecoturism.org) defines "ecotourism" as "responsible travel to natural areas that preserve the environment and improve the life quality of local communities." For this reason, Estancia Don Joaquin has committed to that principle by planting more than 3,000 native trees, while preserving the original mountains, and fostering the growth of community cultural activities (cooking, crafts, music and folk dance), so that the tourist is not a mere visitor, but participates actively of the natural and cultural heritage of the province of Corrientes.
- Location
-
Authentic argentinian farm, located in the southwest of the province of Corrientes, only 10 km from the city of Esquina. Surrounded by marshes, ponds and wetlands, is the ideal place for bird watching, and the observation of native flora and fauna. The 800 hectares are in virgin state. The owners preserve the purity of the lakes, rivers and native mountains more than 200 years old. Home of the local flora and fauna. Here you can see up to 250 bird's varieties and spot animals such as deer, carpinchos, wild boar, otters, and Rheas alligators, among others. The Corriente River, which flows into the city of Esquina and comes from the Esteros del Iberá, is striking for its exhuberant purity and beauty. In the vicinity there are over ten virgin beaches that have soft white sand, which actually are islands.
